Charlie Cocotas recently relocated to Aiken from Cape Cod Massachusetts.

He grew up in Boston Massachusetts and graduated from Northeastern University in 1960 following his service in the US Navy. His business career spanned a fifty year period during which he served in a variety of management positions including President and CEO of major Corporations.

Charlie started oil painting some fifteen years ago and became a member of the Cape Cod Art Association. Charlie’s still life paintings follow the classical style of the Dutch and Flemish masters. He is intrigued with their use of lights and darks to give their paintings a three dimension feeling on a two dimensional surface.

Charlie also paints landscapes, seascapes and equestrian subjects.

He studied with artists such as Arnold Desmarais, Gordon Jones and Richard Muccini.

Charlie is a member of the Aiken Art Guild and the Aiken Center for the Arts. He contributes his work to several charitable organizations including a prominent Cape Cod Church which conducts an annual fund raising event for the poor and homeless at the Osterville Country Club.
